About Tesla

 

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was a Serbian-American engineer and physicist. He had many inventions but is best known for helping create the design of the alternating current (AC) electrical system. 

In 1884, he worked as an engineer for Thomas Edison for a months before attempting to start his own electric light company. 

In 1887, he was granted more than 30 patents for his inventions. George Westinghouse hired Tesla the following year for his research on the alternating current (AC).

In 1893, Tesla and Westinghouse created the first modern power station when they installed alternating current (AC) generators at Niagara Falls. 

Tesla died on January 7th, 1943. The AC system that Tesla invented is still the global standard to this day.

About the festival

 

The Tesla Film Festival is going to celebrate to 160th anniversary of when Nikola Tesla was born. This festival will include work that has been inspired by Tesla. All types of films will be screened such as short films,  documentary films and even feature films.
